The appointment of a new Chief Executive for Gloucester-based Severn Wye Energy Agency has been announced today.

Andy MacPherson joins Severn Wye with a strong background in the energy sector, where he has held chief executive and director roles leading organisations through periods of growth and transformation. He brings extensive experience working across both public and private sectors, alongside a proven track record in negotiating public sector funding and support.

Chair of Trustees Mareike Schmidt said: “I am delighted to welcome Andy to Severn Wye, where he will be leading a skilled and passionate team that works across fuel poverty, home retrofit and sustainable communities. Andy brings a depth of experience in senior leadership roles, strong networks in the energy sector, and a track record of delivering impact and growth.”

Mareike added:
“Andy joins us at a critical time when the numbers of households in fuel poverty are at their highest. Our advice line and community-based energy advisers know first-hand the difference that expert support makes in changing lives. It’s also a time of significant change in the home retrofit sector, where Severn Wye brings its unique brand of impartial energy advice and retrofit services to the commercial market. Our drive to create long-term energy efficiencies through retrofit is mirrored by our work to inspire and support communities to tackle the energy issues that matter to them.”

 Andy MacPherson said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining Severn Wye at such an important moment. The organisation has a strong reputation for delivering meaningful impact, and I look forward to working with the team, partners and communities to build on that success and help address the pressing energy challenges facing households today.”
