MEES for non-domestic landlords

Your action plan for meeting Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards

Impartial advice to optimise the energy efficiency of your portfolio

From 1 April 2023, non-domestic landlords must obtain at least an EPC E rating unless they have registered a valid exemption. This applies to all privately rented non-domestic properties, even where there has been no change in tenancy.

If your property is currently empty, and you are not planning to let it, you don’t need to take any action to improve its rating until you decide to let it again.

Many landlords are already taking steps to make sure their properties are as energy efficient as possible. A better EPC rating is increasingly attractive to tenants, can qualify you for favourable mortgage rates, and may increase the value of the property.

An EPC is the first step to identifying areas where energy efficiency can be improved. Our bespoke MEES service goes further, with a walk and talk survey by one of our specialists, and an energy report that includes bespoke recommendations so you can invest in the right measures.

The cost of this service will vary depending on the size and nature of your portfolio so please get in touch today to find out more about how we can help.
