We have more than 25 years’ experience working with people in fuel poverty, advising on energy efficiency for homes and community buildings, and delivering energy efficiency retrofit projects to exacting standards.
As a charity and non-profit our advice is always impartial and our hands-on experience means we have a clear view of what policies and approaches work in the real world.
We understand the challenges the UK faces for tackling climate change and moving towards net zero through the energy system. Our top team regularly meets with local authorities and industry leaders, including mortgage lenders, helping develop financial incentives to energy efficiency retrofit.

Claire Latham
Director of Energy Advice
Claire leads our energy adviceline team, which takes more than 5,000 calls each year, and our team of community-based energy advisers who provide in-person advice and practical support to over 1,000 households each year.
Emma Longlands
Adviceline Manager
At the frontline of our energy advice, Emma’s team takes thousands of calls every year from people in crisis with their energy supply and bills, or seeking practical advice on how to stay warm and healthy at home. She sees first-hand the trends in the number of enquiries we receive, the types of people contacting us for help, and the type of support they need.
Jacqui Harris
Communities Manager
Jacqui oversees all our community-based support across England and has years of experience working with vulnerable clients and people experiencing fuel poverty. She has in-depth knowledge about the issues influencing fuel poverty and the impact it has on people’s physical and mental health, including on those communities that are geographically and culturally isolated from the usual sources of help.
