Sustainability
Our own sustainability journey.
Our carbon footprint
As experts advising others how to be more sustainable, we constantly review our own ways of working to make sure we’re minimising our own carbon footprint.
We’re proud to have achieved ISO9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management Systems).
ISO 14001 provides a framework for us to implement an EMS and continually improve our
environmental performance, as well as show we’re complying with relevant legal requirements.
The standard encompasses resource use, waste management, environmental performance monitoring, and how we involve stakeholders in our environmental obligations.
Maintaining these certifications demonstrates our commitment to growing our organisation sustainably.

Auditing our energy efficiency
We used experts Sustainable Sidekicks to review everything from how we use our offices, to our procurement policies, to how our colleagues travel to work.
It’s early days, but we already know business travel is our biggest carbon emitter.
Business travel is not something we can do without – our surveyors and community-based advisers frequently carry equipment and visit people not well served by public transport.
But we’re committed to making our operations as low-carbon as we can.
Our internal sustainability team meets regularly to identify and prioritise areas for improvement.
We are working towards three key commitments:
Net zero on waste, procurement and energy emissions by 2030.
Net zero travel by 2040.
Offsetting unavoidable emissions through our own offset schemes.
