Leading the region in retrofit
We are one of the most successful delivery agents for the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) and Home Upgrade Grant (HUG).
We were responsible for more than 30% of HUG delivery in the entire West Midlands through our work in Herefordshire.
In Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire we delivered the most successful HUG programmes in the South West, managing 35% of the regional delivery.
In total we have delivered 470 home retrofits through LAD3 and HUG 1 and 2.

“We are proud that Gloucestershire has one of England’s top-performing HUG programmes, retrofitting more homes than almost any other county in the scheme. Our partnership with Severn Wye is at the heart of this success. Their professionalism, efficiency and care for the households we are working with is nothing short of exemplary.”

Quality from end to end
Our experienced team of fully qualified retrofit assessors provide retrofit risk-path assessments and whole-house assessments of eligible properties, providing a pathway to lower carbon and lower bills that’s specific to each home.
We will assess a customer’s eligibility for funding and manage their retrofit journey. As well as providing our expertise at the planning stage, we will oversee the installation of energy-efficiency and low-carbon technologies, visit site regularly, and evaluate the performance of new measure – not leaving until we’re sure residents are happy.
We can test heat loss, u-values, thermal bridging, and ventilation, and have thermal imaging and depressurisation testing capability in-house. Our teams have extensive experience on projects installing solar PV, air source and ground source heat pumps.
Quality assurance, evaluations, and case studies are always part of the package.
We can manage capital grants on your behalf if necessary too: over the last three years we have managed some £14 million in capital budgets.

Partner with our know-how
We understand that delivering funding is not just a question of signing a contract. You might need to focus on a particular demographic or housing type; they might be hard to reach, or hard to treat. Our bespoke home energy surveys and recommendations are genuinely tailored to your goals.
Our teams work closely with funders and installers to make sure the right installations are made in the right homes
Residents and tenants will always be at the heart of our work. We take their individual circumstances into account in our recommendations and can offer bespoke advice about energy efficiency and energy use in the home.
Severn Wye has a quarter century of hands-on retrofit experience, and we know what works and what doesn’t – but we bring more than expertise to our sector.
As a not-for-profit our advice is completely impartial, and our income is ploughed back in to support our charitable purpose.
We will never recommend particular products – just the best solutions for achieving maximum energy efficiency to the highest standards.
And we don’t sign off until we’re sure people know how to get the most out of their new measures.
